The Breast Center at Southwest General has added a new member to its comprehensive team, a Nurse Navigator.
The role of the Nurse Navigator has many facets. Listed below are just a few:
· An emotional and educational consultant for women with breast disease
· Helps facilitate recommendations made by the physician to assist with patient compliance and understanding
· Supports breast cancer patients and their families in understanding and coping with the diagnosis
· Coordinates patient’s treatment from diagnosis through recovery
