C.E.R.T.—Community Emergency Response Team
In April 2010, Southwest General will host a 20-hour training program promoted by the National
Homeland Security for community residents to become C.E.R.T. members. Following a
major disaster, first responders who provide fire and medical services will have a difficult
time meeting the demands for these services. Retirees, nurses, physicians and anyone with
just a few hours each month could make a significant difference in our level of preparedness
for a major disaster. You must be 18 or older and pass your city’s background check to qualify
for membership. Contact the City Hall in your community for the C.E.R.T. leader.
