Ramesh Gundapaneni, MD

Dr. Gundapanini is board-certified in internal medicine.  Dr. Gundapanini has been involved in the care of Hospice Services patients since the opening of the program.

The duty of the program's medical director is to provide medical leadership in the field of hospice and palliative care.  The medical director reviews and certifies admissions into the hospice program in coordination with the patient's primary care physician and the Hospice Services interdisciplinary team.  The medical director reviews and authorizes the recertification for ongoing hospice care; participates in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings; ensures physician hospice coverage; and collaborates with community physicians to promote knowledge, skills and positive attitudes toward hospice.

As the attending physician, Dr. Gundapanini regularly visits patients in the residential center to address their medical needs.  He also meets with family members to provide education and support, as needed.
