The School Health Program provides service to the Berea City School District, which is comprised of the following three Southwest General taxing district communities: Berea, Brook Park, and Middleburg Heights.
School nurses are stationed in each building for six hours of every school day. The nurses provide basic first aid, assistance with medications, control of communicable diseases and state-mandated health screenings. Specialized care also is provided in the classroom to a number of students with special needs, which includes accompanying them on their daily school bus ride. Additionally, a nurse is provided 24/7 at Camp-Mi-Bro-Be, which runs five consecutive days over five weeks, for all sixth graders in the district.
