Behavioral Health

Helping you face some of life’s most challenging problems

At Southwest General, a variety of programs are in place to identify and treat patients dealing with issues affecting their lives, those of their families and the community at large to help improve their quality of life and their ability to function. Behavioral Health Services at Southwest General help our community residents face some of life’s most challenging problems.

Programs Delivered with Love, Dignity and Respect

Our health care professionals are trained and certified to deal with behavioral health issues that include chemical dependency, mental disorders and struggles associated with aging. As such, our multidisciplinary team is dedicated to helping individuals through programs that lead them to recovery and a return to a healthy state.

Focused on Successful Outcomes

The following Behavioral Health Services are conducted at our Oakview Behavioral Health Center, in Middleburg Heights.  The programs are all designed to assist in developing self-awareness, self-acceptance and personal responsibility.

  • Assessment Services. These services are the first step in determining the existence of a mental health or substance abuse disorder.
  • Chemical Dependency Services. These services consist of highly successful back-to-basics approaches for adults and adolescents. Family involvement is highly encouraged.
  • Mental Health Services. Our Mental Health Services Program offers comprehensive services for inpatient and outpatient treatment for patients with emotional problems.

Additionally, we offer a Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit at Southwest General's Main Campus in Middleburg Heights.  This program focuses on the special needs of aging adults with respect to loss of independence, grief and declining ability to manage one’s daily routines.

We Look Forward to Helping You
