Taking the first step to mental health

The first step in determining the existence of a mental health and/or substance abuse disorder is a thorough assessment of all psychiatric, physical, addictive and mental health issues.  From the comprehensive evaluation, treatment recommendations are made, including a recommendation on whether the condition requires inpatient or outpatient treatment.  Emergency assessments are available 24 hours a day through Southwest General's Emergency Department.
