Southwest General’s Oakview Behavioral Health Center serves the Greater Cleveland area by providing a state-of-the-art treatment center focused on providing care with love, dignity and respect.  All of the services provided at the Oakview Behavioral Health Center are licensed by the state of Ohio and accredited by Joint Commission.

Treatment Methods Applied with Care and Compassion

We employ a variety of treatment methods to help you or your lovedone achieve relief from the sufferings associated with mental health disorders and chemical addiction. These treatments include:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Triage to levels of psychiatric care, when appropriate
  • Evaluation of disturbed behaviors/thoughts/mental status
  • Stabilization of deteriorating psychosocial function
  • Protection from self-harm
  • Medication support services
  • Skills training groups using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
  • Discharge planning and referral for continuation of care and full reintegration to home/community

Services offered through Oakview include:

Assessment Services

  • first step in determining the existence of a mental health and/or substance abuse disorder
  • look at all psychiatric, physical, addictive and mental health issues
  • both non-emergency and emergency (via the Emergency Department at Southwest General) assessments available

Mental Health Services - Adults and Adolescents

  • Adult Inpatient 18-bed Mental Health Unit
  • Adult Outpatient Mental Health Programs (aged 18+) - including partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient treatment using a modified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approach
  • Adolescent Outpatient Mental Health Program (aged 13-18) - short-term treatment and support using DBT

Chemical Dependency Services - Adults (aged 18+) and Adolescents (aged 13-18)

  • Adult Outpatient Chemical Dependency - including intensive outpatient treatment and continuing care
  • Adolescent Outpatient Chemical Dependency Program
