Chemical Dependency Services

Cleveland patient thinking of substance abuse treatment
Substance abuse treatment and recovery programs

Opened in 1985, the Chemical Dependency Services at  Oakview Behavioral Health Center, in Middleburg Heights, continues to stress its highly successful back-to-basics approach in helping patients recover from substance abuse in an outpatient setting.

An Intensive and Accredited Outpatient Treatment Program in Cleveland

Fully accredited by Joint Commission and licensed as an addiction treatment center by the state of Ohio, Chemical Dependency Services provides an abstinence-based form of treatment that relies on the 12-step model of recovery and the educational/group therapy model of treatment. This intensely focused level of care for both adults (aged 18+) and adolescents (aged 13-18) involves counseling and educational activities from three to five hours a day, with both morning and evening sessions and weekly aftercare (adults only).

Multidisciplinary Team Approach for Successful Outcomes

The successful outcomes achieved are the result of our skilled clinical team and the rapport they are able to achieve with their patients and families. This team is comprised of clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists and counselors, and interacts with both the patient and family members to achieve successful outcomes.  Parental involvement is extremely important and expected.

Comprehensive, Compassionate and Family Oriented Chemical Dependency Care

Family involvement is a major component of successful recovery as addiction is a family disease. Oakview Behavioral Health Center’s offers educational and group sessions addressing issues such as:

  • Addiction as a disease
  • Enabling and its impact
  • Detachment
  • The roles of family members in family dynamics

Participation in Al-Anon or other 12-step recovery groups is recommended.
