In response to the growing need for emergency services close to home, Southwest General is proud to offer two convenient locations for emergency care 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. A highly qualified team of board certified emergency care physicians, nurses and specially trained staff is available to care for patients with medical emergencies at both of the following locations:

Emergency Medicine Excellence Award
Southwest General has received HealthGrades' Emergency Medicine Excellence Award for three consecutive years. The award measures the effectiveness of a hospital’s teamwork and its ability to diagnose, triage and provide timely care to patients. HealthGrades studied data from 4,783 hospitals nationwide, and Southwest General was among 263 hospitals to receive the award, placing it in the top 5 percent nationally.

In addition to emergency care, Southwest General offers the following services to help meet the needs of patients:
Trauma Service
For individuals suffering severe traumatic injuries, Southwest General’s Trauma Service, located on the Main Campus, is verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma as a Level III trauma center. This verification recognizes that the Trauma Service has 24-hour, in-house coverage by highly specialized physicians and nurses prepared for the immediate treatment of the critically injured patient. At Southwest General, the entire spectrum of care, from the pre-hospital phase through rehabilitation, is established to address the continuum of needs for the injured patient.
Southwest General Urgicare Centers provide convenient, prompt, urgent care services for minor illnesses and injuries for family members of all ages as well as occupational health services
Southwest General offers a wide range of classes for firefighters and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) professionals to help assure that the pre-hospital care they provide reflects the most current treatments and procedures.
