Parking
There will be plenty of parking options available for patients and visitors during construction of Southwest General's new Emergency Room (ER), Critical Care Unit and parking structure.

Important Information About Parking:

Valet parking service is available to patients and visitors, Monday through Friday at Southwest General's main campus

The fee for Valet parking is $3

Valet parking is FREE for patients with a visible handicap placard in their vehicle

Southwest General will provide FREE shuttle service on weekdays to help transport people to and from various parking lots and Health Center entrances. The shuttle will run in a continuous loop around campus. Shuttle services are available for patients, visitors and employees.

Access
New, Temporary Patient Emergency Room (ER) Entrance
During construction, there will be a new, temporary patient entrance to the Emergency Room (ER). The entrance is clearly marked with a large "Emergency" signs on the outside of the Building (Building A). Once inside, signs will guide patients and visitors directly to the ER.
Valet parking is available at the new, temporary patient entrance to the ER (see above for Valet parking information).
Important Information for Maternity Patients:

For Patients Arriving from 5AM until 8 PM:
Maternity Patients arriving at the hospital during regular business hours have the option of parking in the Parking Garage and going directly to the Maternity Department OR if their labor is advanced, they may use the new, temporary Patient ER Entrance (located in Building A – see map below) and follow the instructions below.

For Patients Arriving from 8PM until 5AM:
Maternity patients arriving at the hospital after 8 p.m. should use the new, Patient ER Entrance. Once inside the building, they will find The "Stork Line" telephone located inside the entrance doors on the right-hand wall. If patients do not see this phone and walk into the ER waiting area, there is another "Stork Line" across from the triage desk.

Patients should use the Stork Line telephone to call the Maternity Department. A staff member will arrive shortly with a wheelchair for the trip to the Maternity Department.
PLEASE NOTE: Valet parking, available at the Patient ER Entrance, will allow each Maternity patient and her significant other to remain together once arriving at the hospital. After hours, a member of Southwest General's Protection Services Department will assist with parking so that moms-to-be are never left alone.
