Parking and Access

Costruction Map

Important Information About Parking

As we enter the final phase of construction, the current Building A and B parking areas will be reconfigured to connect to the new campus loop road and to enable completion of the underground parking structure. This will result in extremely limited parking in Lot A (near the current Emergency Department entrance).

To best serve patients and visitors as construction continues, the following parking changes will be in effect immediately:

Patients and visitors going to buildings A & B should park in newly renamed Lot AB, (at the corner of Old Oak Blvd. and Bagley Rd.).

Shuttle Service

FREE Shuttle Service will take patients and visitors from Lot AB to the hospital, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. The Shuttle loops around campus every five - 10 minutes on weekdays to help transport people to and from various parking lots and Health Center entrances.

Valet Parking

  • Valet parking service is available to patients and visitors, Monday through Friday at Southwest General's main campus
  •  The fee for Valet parking is $3
  • Valet parking is FREE for patients with a visible handicap placard in their vehicle
  • Southwest General will provide FREE shuttle service
  • If you have specific questions about parking during construction, contact Southwest General's Protection Services Department at 440-816-8884.

New Patient Emergency Room (ER) Entrance

There is a new patient entrance to the Emergency Room (ER). The ER is easily accessible from Bagley Road and is clearly marked with a large "Emergency" sign on the outside of the Building.

Maternity Patients - Important Information

  • For Patients Arriving from 5AM until 8 PM:
Maternity Patients arriving at the hospital during regular business hours have the option of parking in the Parking Garage and going directly to the Maternity Department OR if their labor is advanced, they may use the new, temporary Patient ER Entrance (located in Building A – see map below) and follow the instructions below.
  • For Patients Arriving from 8PM until 5AM:
Maternity patients arriving at the hospital after 8 p.m. should use the new, Patient ER Entrance. Once inside the building, they will find The "Stork Line" telephone located inside the entrance doors on the right-hand wall. If patients do not see this phone and walk into the ER waiting area, there is another "Stork Line" across from the triage desk.
  • Patients should use the Stork Line telephone to call the Maternity Department. A staff member will arrive shortly with a wheelchair for the trip to the Maternity Department.

PLEASE NOTE: Valet parking, available at the Patient ER Entrance, will allow each Maternity patient and her significant other to remain together once arriving at the hospital. After hours, a member of Southwest General's Protection Services Department will assist with parking so that moms-to-be are never left alone.

Maternity patients may call the Maternity Department at 440-816-5740 with any specific questions.
