High-Field Open MRI:
More Comfort Plus Cutting-Edge Digital Imaging
Southwest General offers High Field Open MRI services at the Strongsville Medical Center. This state-of-the-art technology provides high performance in a truly open configuration.
The High Field Open MRI generates digital images of the highest quality, while providing a more patient-friendly experience. The images can be immediately accessible to all physicians at any of Southwest General’s Medical Center.
About 18-20 percent of patients have trouble with closed MRI due to obesity or claustrophobia. This exciting High-field Open MRI technology allows for high quality diagnostic imaging with the patients’ comfort in mind.
Bradley Blackburn, MD, a board-certified interventional radiologist on the Medical Staff at Southwest General brought his leading-edge radiology practice, MSN Imaging, to Southwest General’s Strongsville Medical Center. Dr. Blackburn brings a unique expertise in the use of sedation during MRI testing. The use of sedation allows patients that would not otherwise be able to complete the exam, due to anxiety or pain, to successfully accomplish the MRI. This, in turn, allows their physician to utilize the diagnostic report to plan an appropriate course of treatment.
The state-of-the-art High-Field Open MRI system at the Strongsville Medical Center is just another example of Southwest General’s commitment to delivering the best possible imaging quality.
