Is Southwest General’s MyHealth secure?

Southwest General takes great care to protect your health information. MyHealth is completely confidential and meets all federal HIPAA guidelines designed to protect your private health information. To help protect your personal health information, do not share your username and password with anyone and be sure to log out after each visit.

Can I set up and access my Southwest General MyHealth account during my hospital stay?

Yes. During your hospital stay, you can access your e-mail via computer, smartphone or other mobile device to accept your invitation and set up an account. If you have problems setting up your account, call Technical Support for Southwest General’s MyHealth at 1-877-621-8014, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

What do I do if I forget my username or password?

What should I do if I don't understand my results?

Contact your physician for any questions concerning your medical information.

Can I view the medical record of my child or a family member with Southwest General’s MyHealth?

Yes. Proxy access allows a patient’s parent, guardian or designee to connect to the patient’s health information. Proxy access can be used to view health records for children (minors only) and adult patients. Forms to request proxy access are available in the Medical Records Department at Southwest General.

Is there a fee to use Southwest General’s MyHealth?

No, Southwest General’s MyHealth is a FREE service offered to our patients.

When can I see my lab test results?

Lab tests will be posted to your electronic health record within 36 hours. Most common lab test results will be viewable, but some sensitive results are not currently available. These include:

  • HIV Tests
  • Pregnancy Tests
  • STD Screening
  • Tumor Markers

If the health information in my account is not correct, what should I do?

Please contact your physician with any concerns about the accuracy of your health information.

How do I read my blood pressure information?

Blood pressure is currently displayed as two separate values (systolic and diastolic) and the values are listed in alphabetical order, so diastolic will be listed first. Plans are underway to have the two values report together.

Can I enter my own personal health information in MyHealth?

Yes. Select the gear icon on the top right-hand side of the page. Next select “Account” and “Update Account Settings.” Click on the Health Record tab at the top of the page to add your personal information. This information is for your own reference and will not be part of your hospital medical record. To return to Southwest General’s MyHealth, click on the "Return to Southwest General” button at the top of the page.

Can my spouse and I share one MyHealth account?

No. Due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must establish his or her own account in Southwest General’s MyHealth.

Can I use Southwest General’s MyHealth to communicate an emergency or medical concern?

NO. DO NOT USE SOUTHWEST GENERAL’S MYHEALTH IN AN EMERGENCY. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 and do not use online messaging.

What if I do not receive my e-mail invitation?

Please check the spam or junk mail folders in your email account. If you still cannot find the invitation, call Technical Support at 1-877-621-8014, 24-hours a day, seven days a week to verify your e-mail address and have the invitation re-sent to you if needed.

Why does my invitation link not work?

For your security, your invitation expires after 90 days. Call Technical Support at 1-877-621-8014 to have the email invitation re-sent to you.
