Southwest General Welcomes New Executive

Middleburg Heights, OH (Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015) – Following an extensive search, Southwest General has appointed Steven P. Bossart, MNO, as the new vice president of Development at Southwest General and executive director of the Southwest Community Health Foundation.

Bossart most recently served as executive director and chief development officer for the Akron General Foundation. Prior to this, he held positions in leadership and development with Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation as well as the Great Lakes Science Center and Case Western Reserve University.

An influential leader, Bossart has a history of success in building strong partnerships with internal and external constituents, the local business community and local, state and national government organizations to help secure funding to advance institutional priorities.

“The Southwest Community Health Foundation plays a vital role in supporting the mission of Southwest General. By raising funds for current programs and services as well as future development, the Foundation provides the necessary resources to help promote the health and wellness of the communities we serve,” explains Thomas A. Selden, FACHE, president and CEO, Southwest General.  “Steve’s drive and expertise, coupled with his dedication to supporting the hospital’s growth and development make him a valuable addition to the hospital’s strong executive team. Bossart holds a Master of Nonprofit Organizations degree from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations degree from Kent State University. He resides with his wife, Lorrie and two young daughters, in Copley, Ohio.
