Donor Bill of Rights

The term philanthropy is based upon voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that positively impacts the quality of a donor's life. To ensure that the act of philanthropy continues to merit the respect and trust of the public, and that donors and other constituents have full confidence in the Southwest Community Health Foundation, we declare these rights:

billOfRightsI. To be informed of the mission of The Southwest Community Health Foundation and our intent to use donated resources.

II. To be informed of those members serving as trustees of The Southwest Community Health Foundation's governing board, and to expect this board to exercise industry best practices in its stewardship responsibilities.

III. To have access to The Southwest Community Health Foundation's most recent financial statements. 

IV. To be assured that all gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.

V. To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition.

VI. To be assured that information about all donations is handled with respect and confidentiality to the extent provided by law.

VII. To be informed regarding the solicitor's affiliation to The Southwest Community Health Foundation (i.e. staff, volunteers, etc.).

IX. To have the opportunity at any time to request the removal of your contact information from future mailing and communications from The Southwest Community Health Foundation. 

X. To have the ability to inquire when making a gift or considering a contribution and to receive prompt and transparent answers.
