Work With Sports-Minded Medical Professionals

Our sports medicine team includes certified athletic trainers and experienced physical therapists. They work closely with skilled, board-certified orthopedic surgeons on Southwest General’s Medical Staff. These physicians diagnose injuries and recommend the best treatment and rehabilitation options for each athlete. Together with other members of the Sports Medicine team, they carefully monitor each patient’s progress to determine when the athlete can resume training.

Committed to Athletic Excellence in our Communities

Southwest General Sports Medicine provides expert care and attention to students at many local schools, including:

  • Berea - Midpark High School
  • Columbia High School
  • Olmsted Falls High School
  • Strongsville High School

A certified athletic trainer from Southwest General is assigned to each school and is on site to help with practices and games and to foster cooperation among coaches, physicians, physical therapists and others involved in helping student athletes.

If an athletic injury requires evaluation, Southwest General Sports Medicine physicians assure that the athlete is seen quickly and monitor his or her condition to help coaches and trainers make decisions about the athlete’s participation in practices and games. Sports Medicine trainers and physicians also are available to speak with parents who are encouraged to call to discuss their athlete’s training or medical condition.
