ACL Injury Treatment

Sportsmetrics™

Sportsmetrics™ is the only nationally recognized program in the Greater Cleveland area for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury prevention and treatment.

Southwest General Sports Medicine is proud to offer Sportsmetrics to help prevent and tackle serious knee injuries in athletes of all ages and skill levels. This program is built on research and evidence-based practices. We begin with video analysis of the athlete’s jumping and landing mechanics. A certified Sportsmetrics therapist conducts the analysis and reviews findings with the patient. Additionally, the therapist develops a personalized treatment plan for each patient to treat injury and/or to educate the patient on exercises and strategies he or she can use to prevent further injury or avoid injury before it occurs.

The Sportmetrics program features:

  • Plyometrics
  • Agility drills
  • Comprehensive strengthening
  • Intensive return-to-play protocols for sports-specific movement

Improving Athletic Performance

Running and jumping puts a lot of strain on the body, particularly the legs and knees. The Sportsmetrics protocol has been scientifically proven to improve endurance and vertical jump height as well as decrease landing force. This allows athletes to increase their mobility while putting less strain on their joints and muscles. Doing more with less impact is an invaluable skill for any athlete. It teaches patients how to use muscles efficiently and minimize long-term damage to their bodies.
