A Treatment Process Focused on Providing Individualized Therapy

Each patient is unique to us and so, too, are their physical therapy needs. Our team of board-certified physicians, experienced physical therapists and certified sports medicine professionals works diligently to provide care for inpatients and outpatients of any age. Each patient receives a comprehensive pre-treatment evaluation as well as a customized treatment program focusing on his or her individual needs and goals to assure the best possible outcomes.

Physical Therapy For a Wide Range of Conditions

Our goal is to minimize the effects of illness or injury and to help patients achieve the maximum level of function possible. Our physical therapists treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:

  • Gait and balance issues
  • Lymphedema
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Scoliosis
  • Back Pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Parkinsons
  • Upper extremity and hand issues
  • Arthritis and other joint and soft tissue conditions
  • Concussions

For pediatric rehabilitation, our therapists are uniquely trained and experienced in working with children with developmental delays, sports injuries and other conditions that can impact their ability to reach their full potential as they mature.

Treatments Designed for Successful Outcomes

Depending upon each patient's individual needs, Southwest General's physical therapists use a variety of treatment techniques, including:

  • Activities to ease pain and encourage movement
  • Strength training
  • Stretching exercises to help improve muscle flexibility
  • Balance and coordination activities
  • Aquatic (pool) therapy to strengthen muscles
  • Training in the use of adaptive equipment to replace lost function or to help promote independent movement
