Bringing advanced care closer to home

University HospitalsIn 1997, Southwest General entered a unique partnering agreement with University Hospitals (UH). A recognized leader in medical care, research and education for more than 130 years, UH offers an array of comprehensive services, advanced technologies and exceptional facilities. Its medical staff includes some of the country’s finest physicians dedicated to providing excellent patient care and remaining at the forefront of medicine by pioneering research into the causes and cures of disease.

Through this unique partnering agreement, Southwest General offers its communities local access to selected services of the following world-renowned UH facilities:

UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital

One of America's great children's hospitals and for Clevelanders, the most trusted name for children. At Southwest General, neonatal nurse practitioners from UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital work to provide 24-hour coverage for babies.

Seidman Cancer Center

A partnership between University Hospitals and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center is designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. It is the only NCI-designated center in Northern Ohio. As an NCI-designated center, it provides patients with the most current and investigational therapies, many of which are not available outside a research setting. Through the partnering agreement, Seidman Cancer Center services are available on the Health Center's main Campus through the UH Seidman Cancer Center at Southwest General.
