About This Event
One in ten Americans have diabetes, and about one in five people with diabetes don't know they have it. Lifestyle changes can help prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the disease. Prevention is important if you're at risk for diabetes because of excess weight or obesity, high cholesterol, or a family history of diabetes. Monica L. Kravetz MSN-Ed, RN, GERO-BC, diabetes nurse educator, from Southwest General Health Center, will discuss how changing your lifestyle could be a big step toward diabetes prevention. It's never too late to start!
