Healthy Heart Program

Heart Wellness Services for men and Women

To live a healthy life, it’s important to understand how to obtain and maintain a healthy heart. To make that easier, Southwest General offers those aged 18 and older two programs called "Healthy Heart for Her” and “Healthy Heart for Him.”

We urge you to take control of your heart health and arm yourself with information.

Programs for Men and Women with the Same Healthy Heart Goals

Healthy Heart Program

Now is the time to take an interest in your heart health. Southwest General’s Healthy Heart Program can help both men and women improve their heart health and their overall fitness. Featuring two separate programs, one for men and one for women, the programs will help participants:

  • Learn about their laboratory test results for cholesterol and blood sugar (glucose)
  • Have a screening for Body Mass Index (BMI), blood pressure and heart rate
  • Have stress and risk assessments performed
  • Have a complete 12-lead EKG

For Women

It is especially important for women to understand how to maintain heart health, as cardiovascular disease is this group’s number one killer and, as such, has become a greater threat than breast cancer.

For Men

Heart disease is also the leading killer of American men, making it critically important for men to be knowledgeable about heart health. Nearly five million men have a past medical history of a heart attack, and each year more than 500,000 men will have a heart attack. After age 40, men have a 49 percent lifetime risk of coronary heart disease, including heart attacks and chest pain. Millions more are affected by other cardiovascular diseases.

Professionals Committed to Helping Patients Achieve Heart Health

Cardiopulmonary Specialists are ready to help Healthy Heart program participants with private one-on-one consultations. During these consultations, these highly qualified health care professionals will discuss all laboratory, screening, assessment and EKG results in a frank and compassionate manner. Appointment dates and times are very flexible.

We Look Forward to Helping You

There is a one-time, out-of-pocket fee of $30 for the Healthy Heart program.
