Kyle GustafsonKyle Gustafson, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP
RPD PGY-1, Preceptor

Kyle Gustafson is a Critical Care pharmacist who serves as RPD for the PGY-1 Residency program. In addition to his role at Southwest General, Kyle is also an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at NEOMED school of pharmacy where he teaches in the Critical Care and Global Health curriculum. At NEOMED he has been recognized for his teaching and preceptor with the P3 teacher of the year (2021) and the P4 preceptor of the year (2019) awards, in addition to being recognized as the Humanitarian of the Year through the Ohio Society of Health-system Pharmacists (2017). When he isn’t working Kyle enjoys a nice cup of home-roasted coffee, a challenging strategy board game, and spending time with his wife (Amy) and their two children (Ezra and Lydia).

Joe Guidos, PharmD, BCPS, BCCCP, BCEMP
RPD PGY-2 EM, Preceptor

Joe Guidos is an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist who serves as the RPD for the PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency. He also serves as a preceptor for PGY1 residents, APPE, and IPPE students. He is an active member of OCCP where he currently serves on the executive committee as the Treasurer/Secretary. Joe was recognized as the PGY1 preceptor of the year for 2018-2019.

Ashley BrownAshley Brown, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP
Past Resident, Preceptor

Ashley Brown a psychiatry pharmacy specialist who serves as the pharmacy clinical coordinator at Southwest General. Ashley is a 2013 graduate of Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), and an inaugural graduate of the Southwest General residency program. She has worked extensively in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, with a particular fondness for managing patients with substance use disorder. Ashley works to optimize interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient care, through her work on the medication safety, pharmacy and therapeutics, orderset oversight, and residency advisory committees. Away from work, Ashley enjoys time with her husband (Chris), two sons (Oliver and Elijah) and her foster daughter (Maya). Ashley and her husband serve as foster parents in Cuyahoga County, as they're always craving a little more love and craziness in their household.

Victoria ChoVictoria Cho, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP
Past Resident, Preceptor

Victoria Cho is a clinical pharmacy specialist, who primarily works in psychiatry and ambulatory care. She serves as a preceptor for both the PGY1 and PGY2 residency programs primarily for the longitudinal research rotation and psychiatry elective. She was recognized as the PGY1 preceptor of the year for 2021-2022. Victoria has also completed her PGY1 residency (2017-2018) and PGY2 ambulatory care residency (2018-2019) at Southwest General. During her spare time, Victoria enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

Stacy Zorska, PharmD, MHA
Director of Pharmacy, Preceptor

Stacey Zorska is the Director of Pharmacy at Southwest General and co-precepts the longitudinal rotation in pharmacy administration and quality. Dr. Zorska received her Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Michigan. She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan before establishing clinical pharmacy services at Southwest General. After becoming the Director of Pharmacy, Dr. Zorska obtained a master's degree in Health Administration from Simmons College in Boston, MA. Dr. Zorska's primary interests are growing the pharmacy enterprise through establishment of new pharmacy services and leveraging technology to empower pharmacy staff to work at the top of their licensure.

Rebecca Swierz MargeviciusRebecca Swierz Margevicius, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP
Past Resident, Preceptor

Rebecca Margevicius is an Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist at Southwest General. She created the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program after completing her PGY-1 residency at Southwest General in 2014. She precepts PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents as well as pharmacy students from both NEOMED and the University of Toledo. Rebecca is the recipient of the 2020 UT APPE Preceptor of the Year award. She is the proud mom of three wonderful kids and enjoys reading, exercising, and Cleveland sports!

Ashley Smith, PharmD, BCPS
Preceptor

Ashley Smith is board certified in pharmacotherapy and practices as a float pharmacist. She serves as a preceptor for orientation, longitudinal staffing, and internal medicine. In addition to her role at Southwest General, Ashley serves on ASHP's section advisory group on development of the educational workforce, reviews CVs through ASHP’s biannual program, and frequently reviews PSAP chapters through ACCP. When she isn’t working, she enjoys geocaching with her husband, playing card and board games, and making greeting cards.

Jean Mewhinney, RPh
Preceptor

Jean Mewhinney is a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and serves as the Pharmacy Operations Manager of the inpatient pharmacy. She has many different roles as the operations manager and deals with a variety of issues including current drug shortages, interviewing pharmacists and technicians for career opportunities at Southwest General and handles issues that arise day to day. She serves as a preceptor for orientation along with Ashley Smith. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband (Kevin), her three adult children (Kyle, Allen, and Clare) and her daughter-in law (Kristin).

Laura GrossLaura Gross, PharmD, BCPS
Past Resident, Preceptor

Laura Gross is an Ambulatory Care pharmacist who completed both her PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residencies at Southwest General. After the completion of her residencies, she cared for patients in both the inpatient Internal Medicine and outpatient Ambulatory Care settings, along with working to expand the pharmacist led diabetes education services. Her current role focuses on expanding the Ambulatory Care pharmacy services offered at Southwest General through her passion for empowering patients with the knowledge and tools to take charge of their health. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband (Brad) and son (Hudson) enjoying the outdoors and sunshine, listening to podcasts, telling all of her coworkers about the podcasts, and exercising.

Samantha Rasure, PharmD, BCPS
Past Resident, Preceptor

Samantha is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist whose primary job focus is antimicrobial stewardship. In addition to focusing in infectious diseases Samantha also helps staff the Progressive Care Unit. She is board certified in pharmacotherapy and has also completed antimicrobial stewardship training through the Society of Infectious Disease Pharmacists. The true loves of Samantha's life are her two sons Ryder and Callum and her husband Jordan. They love spending time outside and making delicious home cooked meals.

Caroline TonleyCaroline Townley, PharmD, BCOP
Preceptor

Caroline Townley is the clinical oncology pharmacist for the Seidman Cancer Center at Southwest General. She completed a PGY-1 pharmacy resident program at Cleveland Clinic Akron General and then went onto to specialize in hematology/oncology at Boston Medical Center. Caroline is a board certified oncology pharmacist (BCOP). She has been published in the Journal of Hematology Oncology Pharmacy (JHOP) for research on direct oral anticoagulation use in cancer-associated thromboembolism as well as for the comparison of grade 4 neutropenia associated with pegfilgrastim administered via the Onpro Device versus manual injection with a prefilled syringe. Outside of work, Caroline enjoys trying new restaurants, visiting wineries, and spending time with her puppy (Penny). Caroline and her husband (Brett) are expecting their first child this fall.

Luke Fawcett, PharmD, BCPS

Luke Fawcett is a full time Emergency Department pharmacist at Southwest General Medical Center. He obtained his doctor of pharmacy from the University of Findlay. In addition to his clinical services, he also precepts PGY-2 Emergency Medicine pharmacy residents and PGY-1 pharmacy residents. In the past, he has been recognized as a PGY1 preceptor of year and has also been awarded as Outstanding Preceptor by the University of Findlay. Outside of work, Luke enjoys outgoing activities and travel with his wife (Mallika) and son (Charlie).

Erin JohanekErin Johanek, PharmD, BCPS
Preceptor

Erin Johanek is a staff pharmacist who rotates through multiple areas of the hospital, including the Seidman Cancer Center, Coumadin Clinic, and the inpatient order entry role. She also works as a clinical pharmacy analyst and maintains the hospital’s infusion pump library. Erin is a co-preceptor for the Ambulatory Care Staffing rotation. Outside of work, Erin enjoys traveling, exercising and spending time with her husband (Mike), their two dogs (Harvey and Penny), and their two cats (Bane and Bruce).

Sara BonenfantSara Bonenfant, PharmD

Sara Bonenfant is a staff pharmacist who primarily works in a de-centralized role assisting with transitions of care for patients on the floors. After completing her residency at Southwest General, Sara wished to continue to be involved in the residency program and is a co-preceptor for the internal medicine and transitions of care rotations. After work Sara enjoys spending time at home with her husband (Brandon), son (Bradley) and her two huskies (Nevaeh and Nala).

Cara ParrishCara Parrish, PharmD

Cara Parrish is a former resident (2021-2022) who is now employed at Southwest General. Her main focus is internal medicine and critical care while floating to other positions when needed. Cara's experience as an APPE student at SWG contributed to her pursuing residency and making SWG a top choice. As a resident, Cara experienced a wide variety of roles and responsibilities of pharmacists in the unique setting of a non-teaching hospital. In her free time, Cara enjoys playing with her two huskies, exploring local restaurants with her fiancé, and playing rec sports with her friends.

Jordan Cesta, PharmD, BCPS
Past Resident, Preceptor

Jordan was in the PGY-1 residency class of 2019-2020. She was hired on a Southwest General post residency as a staffing pharmacist. She works in a variety of areas in the department which include the coumadin clinic, inpatient pharmacy, OR satellite pharmacy, and transitions of care on the general medical floors. There are very few times you will find Jordan working without coffee nearby.

Jen RemingtonJennifer Remington, PharmD

Jennifer Remington is a clinical pharmacy specialist who primarily works in psychiatry and internal medicine/step-down unit. Jennifer completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at UH St. John Medical Center from 2019-2020 and then worked as a clinical pharmacist at UH Richmond Medical Center primarily in internal medicine before starting at Southwest in mid 2023. Jennifer is passionate for cardiology and transitions of care. Outside of work Jennifer spends most of her time with her husband (Jake) and daughter (Jessica) enjoying the outdoors and Cleveland sports. Jennifer has always loved to dance and now takes a ballet class once a week.
