Experiential Rotations

Southwest General Health Center is committed to providing a high-quality experiential learning environment that will challenge learners to grow both academically and professionally. Through exposure to highly skilled pharmacists, nurses, and physicians - our goal is to develop students capable of providing patient care across a wide variety of patient populations and clinical settings.

At Southwest General, our Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) rotations offer pharmacy students a comprehensive and immersive experience through clinical areas within the hospital setting. During the required hours, students will gain exposure to areas such as internal medicine, infectious disease, emergency medicine, and other specialized departments. Students will also be able to rotate through the main pharmacy shadowing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to better understand how hospital pharmacy works.
