Light the Night to Honor a Life 2022

WHAT: For twelve consecutive years, the staff and volunteers of Southwest General’s The Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice has sold luminarias to community members as a way for them to honor someone special during the holiday season.

On Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, at 6 p.m., individuals will gather to place and light the luminarias as well as the trees along the drive and walkways of the Residential Hospice Facility. They will remain lit throughout the holiday season—until Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. Pricing includes:

  • $15 for a white luminaria
  • $25 for a silver luminaria
  • $50 for a gold luminaria
  • $200 to sponsor a remembrance tree
  • $500 to sponsor a grand tree

HOW: To sponsor a luminaria or tree, click here. The deadline for orders is Monday, Nov. 28, 2022. *Trees are available in limited quantities.

WHY: All proceeds from the event benefit the Dennis C. Simmerman Hospice Community Care Fund. Founded in 2008, this fund provides critical financial and care-related services for hospice patients and families of limited means. In addition to financial assistance for residential hospice care, the fund provides support for services such as in-home caretakers, transportation of family members for visitation and help with medication.
