Physical Rehabilitation

Personalized rehabilitation services for excellent outcomes

At Southwest General, we are committed to helping patients return to their daily activities as soon as possible after injury, illness or surgery. Our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Department provides comprehensive rehabilitation services, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Sports Medicine among others.

Each patient receives an individualized rehabilitation plan prepared by an interdisciplinary team of medical professionals. This individualized approach helps us to focus on each patient’s specific needs for the best possible outcomes.

Rehabilitation Programs to Complement Every Patient’s Needs

Our orthopedic rehabilitation programs are planned and delivered with compassion, patience and expertise by the team of medical professionals in our PM&R Department. Some of our major programs include:

Knee and Hip Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation programs for patients with knee and hip conditions include comprehensive inpatient and outpatient components to help patients recover during their stay and continue to progress after they are discharged from the hospital.

Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation

Physical and occupational therapists work together to provide a comprehensive program for rehabilitation of all upper extremity injuries and conditions involving the hand, wrist, elbow or shoulder.

Spine Rehabilitation

Comprehensive evaluations and treatment of cervical, thoracic, lumbar or sacral spine problems, including scoliosis. Our Spine Care Team provides education focusing on the areas of anatomy, biomechanics of the spine, proper posture and correct performance of daily activities. This ongoing education helps patients prevent re-injury and empowers them to manage their lifestyle.

Pediatric Orthopedic Rehabilitation

A comprehensive program of services to address the special needs of children of all ages. Highly skilled, compassionate pediatric rehabilitation therapists work together with each child’s family, primary care physician and any specialty care providers to coordinate services to meet the child’s individual needs.
