Domestic Violence Help

Help for Victims of Domestic Violence

Domestic violence can affect people of any community. Unfortunately, victims of domestic abuse do not always seek help because they feel afraid. Southwest General Health Center assists victims of domestic violence by providing medical care and information on community resources from which they can seek help and support in figuring out next steps.

Have You Been a Victim of Domestic Violence?

Has anyone forced or pressured you to perform sexual activities?
Has anyone ever threatened or physically hurt you, your family or pets?
Did someone take your ID/documents and he/she is forcing you to work?
If you answered “Yes” to any of the above:

  • Seek medical help from a physician or Emergency Room and have your injuries documented.
  • Call the police for help if you or your family are in danger.
  • Have a safety plan: If you have to leave your home for safety, bring any legal documents (birth certificates and social security cards), medical cards, an extra set of keys, bank account information, money, credit cards and a change of clothes for you and your children.

REMEMBER…You are worthy and have the right to be treated with respect by EVERYONE you come in contact with.
