Southwest General Earns 2020 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award

The hospital’s Main Campus and Brunswick Emergency Rooms recognized with an annual award for exceptional and innovative performance.

Middleburg Hts., OH (Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020) – Southwest General’s Main Campus and Brunswick Emergency Rooms (ER) have been selected as recipients of the Emergency Nurse Association’s (ENA) 2020 Lantern AwardTM for demonstrating exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research.

The Lantern Award highlights an ER’s accomplishments in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care. In the award application process, organizations were encouraged to share stories that highlight a commitment to the care of patients as well as to the well-being of the nursing staff. The award serves as a visible symbol of a hospital’s commitment to quality, safety, and a healthy work environment.

This is the second time the hospital’s Main Campus ER has earned this notable achievement and the first time for the hospital’s Brunswick ER.
