The Surgery Pavilion - Main Campus

Easing the Anxiety of the Surgical Experience

Southwest General's Surgery Pavilion features 16 state-of-the-art surgical suites for both inpatient and outpatient procedures. For patient convenience, Preadmission Testing and Outpatient Testing are both housed in the Pavilion. Private rooms in the pre-anesthesia area allow patients and their families to remain together until surgery, thereby reducing anxiety.

Our surgical waiting area focuses on family needs and includes comfortable furniture, reading and television viewing areas, computer hook-ups and free internet service. A surgical services staff member keeps families informed of their loved one's progress during surgery and recovery. Families are given pagers so that they can be notified when the surgeon is ready to see them, and five consultation rooms provide privacy for family conversations with surgeons.
